Media Studies 2.0

Monday, 1 September 2008 · by palo.fabus

David Gauntlett is a british sociologist specializing in the studies of contemporary media audiences. In 2007 he published article Media Studies 2.0, which stirred up vital discussion (see abridged notes at wikipedia) and hopefully left at least some traces in the important minds.

Most interestingly, yet before this discussion, William Merrin, Lecturer in Media Studies, found his blog aggregating month by month thematic articles in the very spirit of later Gauntlett’s article bearing even the same title.

So much for the introduction, let this source speak for himself: “I’m useful, if you’d like to be in touch with news in contemporary media.”
