Home Venue: Film Club 35_mm
Ring Free

35_mm Film Club started in October 2006. In the first phase, it concentrated on the presentation of the faculty students' films. The screenings were accompanied by exhibition openings once a month and by musical and dance performances. Later, the program grew wider and richer by presenting student films from abroad (in cooperation with the student film festival "Acko"), documentaries and feature films (in cooperation with the One world festival, Febiofest), and new European films (in cooperation with the French Institut, Austrian Culture Forum, Spanish embassy, Goethe Institut etc.). The screenigs are often accompanied by theoretical introductions or by discussions with the authors and guests.

Multiplace started in 2002 as a coordinated event organised by people who had common interest in presenting new forms of creativity. Multiplace is network of people and organisations interested in interaction between media, technologies, art, culture and society. Network activities culminate every year into the festival, that is happening parallely at several locations in the world. Its program is open to workshops, installations, discussions, concerts, performances, exhibitions, presentations, screenings and especially new forms of creativity. Original focus on the new media culture has been evolving since 2002 and besides the technological aspect of digital media in art, the focus shifted also to questions related to its aesthetical, social, cultural, legal and political issues. The aim of the festival-network Multiplace is to create the fertile ground for media art, to support the creativity in an open and collaborative environment and to encourage critical reflection on the life in the culture shaped by technologies. Multiplace NGO was founded in 2004. In January 2008 we launched the free art server, Sanchez.

The Nitra Gallery
Home Venue: The Nitra Gallery / Bunker
Web-site-specific

The Nitra Gallery in Nitra was founded in 1965. Since 1965 the gallery is based in the former zhupa house which is a cultural monument and is a part of the urban monument reserve. This baroque building was constructed in 1784 on earlier foundations and in 1874 rebuilt into neo-baroque style according to projects of the architect Dümmler. In 1905 – 1908 architect Czigler rebuilt the building into a four-winged palace in art nouveau style both in the interior and exterior. The zhupa house is a significant part of the relicts reservation and is located at the entrance to the Nitra Upper Town.

Our programs nowadays aim at developing the visual art history research and presenting a current Slovak visual art in three exposition rooms where each of them represents a particular thematic field.

We organize wide scope of cultural events and activities for public aimed at bringing contemporary arts closer to the people.
